Indigenous Perspective for All Students

Indigenous Perspective for All Students

Within our local context, some of the most prevalent supports to assist in this area include:

Within both of these documents, there is discussion on the importance of ensuring that all learners have an opportunity to see examples of Indigenous role models, to see Indigenous culture and approaches within classroom and school activities, and to learn about Indigenous experiences from those within the community.

So what does this mean when it comes to the area of educational technology? We know that Indigenous individuals only represent 1.2% of Canada’s ICT sector despite representing the fastest growing population in the country.

Tomorrow, as part of our #TechTipTuesday series, I will highlight some of the ed tech resources I have found that could be used to, “support intiatives to integrate Indigenous perspectives into learning for all students”.

If you have any tools, programs, or ideas to help stregthen our collective capacity in this area I encourage you to share by leaving a comment below! And check out tomorrow’s post for more resources.

I'd love to hear your thoughts; please leave a comment!
