#TechTipTuesday – Indigenous Education Framework Supports
Every Tuesday I share a Tech Tip on our social media pages to assist our staff in their use of technology as it relates to their role.

In 2019, MVSD launched their Indigenous Education Framework:
“The guiding principle of this Framework is to ensure that First Nations, Metis and Inuit students in Mountain View School Division will know who they are, where they come from, and where they are going.
Traditional ways of knowing will be honoured and through this, their strengths and gifts will be discovered.
Students will be empowered to become socially conscious environmental stewards and to be contributing citizens of the world.
To support the implementation of the Framework, we commit to working with stakeholders such as: Elders, student voice; parents; community members; Indigenous organizations; First Nations communities; business organizations; school board Trustees; Indigenous Education Steering
Committee members; non-profit organizations; Prairie Mountain Health; and Child Welfare organizations.”https://www.mvsd.ca/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1077850&type=d&pREC_ID=1361017
Where appropriate, the inclusion of digital resources may be used to support the recommendations outlined within the framework. A quick tutorial on how to access more information about these resources is embedded below:
For those outside our network, the MVSD ICT Resources notebook can also be found through the tab at the top of this blog.
