On Fridays I share what I believe to be a notable person/organization/school on our social media pages to assist our staff in the development of their online Personal Learning Network.

With summer on the horizon ISTE is once again offering their Summer Learning Academy!

ISTE U’s Summer Learning Academy, the PD educators around the world loved last summer, is back with new content, a flexible format and a focus on the edtech topics you’re most interested in!

Over the course of 13 weeks, you can participate in four self-paced ISTE U courses and eight interactive webinars – with support from expert edtech coaches throughout your journey. Plus, you’ll be connected to a community of practice you can turn to for years to come!

Designed for teachers, tech coaches and directors, librarians and media specialists, the Summer Learning Academy’s accommodating format lets you create a custom learning pathway you can dive into no matter where you are or how much time you have to invest this summer!

I participated in the original Summer Learning Academy in the summer of 2020 and found so much value in the information and resources that were shared during that time. If you are interested in learning more, I’ll link to posts I wrote during my experience at the bottom of this post. Whether you decide to formally register to participate or not, make sure you follow the #ISTEsla hashtag across social media (but especially Twitter). There are tons of reflections and resources that are curated via the hashtag!

To be honest, I am still on the fence regarding this summer’s academy. I really want to participate, but at the time of posting, I am awaiting to hear my next steps in my Ph.D route. If I am set to write my comprehensive exams over the summer then that will take my priority; stay tuned for an update at the end of June!
