One Drive Tutorial

Please remember that access to our network servers is not available while out of the school building. As our situation continues to evolve I wanted to communicate to all staff regarding file access. In the event you need to report from home you will not have access to your network drives. I strongly recommend that you take a look at what your essential files are for the communicated time period of March 23-April 9 and begin transferring files to a platform that you can access while at home. Some things to consider: No/unreliable internet at home? – Use a USB, external… Read More

Recommendations for Best Practice

The following summarizes some of my thoughts for those asking what my plans are for online options during class suspensions. The following represents my PERSONAL OPINION, not the official recommendations of any organization. While I am a huge proponent of the benefits of tech I strongly argue that there is a vast digital divide in our area that will place undue stress on students & families if it is presented as the only option for programming. #WOWWednesday

Every Wednesday I highlight some of our amazing MVSD staff on our social media pages. Everyday our staff are using tech in new and exciting ways, are learning new skills, and are sharing ways in which ed tech is assisting them in their practice.      This week goes out to our HS Admin team who met yesterday to establish our video conference offerings for the 2020/21 school year. Each of our buildings serves as a hub in the division specializing in the VC delivery of particular subject areas. MVSD VC Offerings. (2020). Uploaded by Kirsten Thompson. #TechTipTuesday – SKYPE in the Classroom

Every Tuesday I share a Tech Tip on our social media pages to assist our staff in their use of technology as it relates to their role.      Have you used Skype in the Classroom?  This amazing tool opens up barriers for all schools but especially those in rural and remote areas where travel is often limited due to financial and geographic limitations.
