ICT for Teachers – Back in the Blogging Game!

*This post has been written as part of my journey through my Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Planning through Brandon University Hello?  Is there anyone in the blogosphere that still has me added to their RSS feed?  If so, THANK YOU! If you are joining me as part of class #BU755 then welcome!      It has been a long absence from this blog (over a year in fact) but that doesn’t mean I’m not still here! In fact I check into my blog pretty regularly as it was my constant source of documentation over the past 4 years. I often check… Read More

Digital Literacy/Citizenship Skills That Students Need To Have

I have been doing a lot of work in the areas of digital literacy and citizenship in the past few years through this blog, in my classroom, at conferences I’ve presented at, and the work that I’m doing for my M.Ed; it is something I am passionately interested in and it seems to infuse its way into the various aspects of my professional life.      I strongly believe that there is a BIG disconnect between the skills educators have, the skills their students have, the skills that educators assume their students have, and the skills that educators… Read More

In theory, I probably could have attended with Jaxson if I wanted to, but we also had an out-of-town doctor’s appointment on that day as well so it was not meant to be.      One of the activities that George had our teacher’s participate in was joining Twitter! Yay! As someone who has been… Read More

Student Council Is On “Insta” and Other Successes

I am still co-supervising our school’s student council with one of my colleagues and, while it is hard not being at the school for all of the day-to-day interactions and activities, I am able to make it to our weekly meetings at noon hour and some of our larger school events.      I couldn’t be more proud of our student council this year. We have an amazing group of students who take charge and work well together. Despite being in school for only 11 days they have already: – cleaned out and organized the student council room… Read More
