MTS Awakening Possibilities Conference

This week was the MTS Awakening Possibilities Tech Conference and my head is still spinning over how amazing it was! Starting on Wednesday the 16th, approximately 600 educators got together to discuss educational technology in regards to:– implementation– policy– potential tools– project options– and much more! Here’s an excerpt from the official MTS Awakening Possibilities website:      This conference was exciting for me for a lot of reasons. I remember attending the MTS Fab 5 Conference in Brandon in the fall of 2012 and seeing a banner advertising for an upcoming technology conference. At this time there wasn’t… Read More

ManACE Board Meeting

This Friday I attended my very first meeting as a ManACE board meeting. I was very excited as I hadn’t had an opportunity to meet a lot of our board members yet and I was looking forward to connecting with more educators who were interested in the same things as me. The meeting took place at St. John’s Ravencourt (SJR) in Winnipeg & I really enjoyed touring the beautiful campus and seeing some of the differences between the public and private education systems in Manitoba. This was my first experience with Manitoba’s private education system and it was definitely… Read More

ManACE Board Member

This past weekend I was lucky enough to head into Winnipeg to spend some time with some amazing teachers, enjoy some great BBQ, and discuss some plans for educational technology in our province. What was the occasion you ask? Well I am proud to announce that I will be serving as a board member on the Manitoba Association for Computing Educators and this past Saturday was their informal Annual General Meeting where I was welcomed aboard.      Prior to me becoming a board member, I presented at the first ManACE TIN (Technology Information Night) in Neepawa and was… Read More

On our way to Neepawa!       I shared on Thursday that I would be presenting four presentations within 20 hours and I am happy to report that everything went smoothly!      Did you know that August is Connected Educator Month?? To be honest I had not heard of Connected Educator Month until I stumbled across it yesterday on one of my favourite admin blogs, A Principal’s Reflections written by Eric Sheninger.
