Follow Friday – #MTSPDDay
On Fridays, I share what I believe to be a notable person/organization/school on our social media pages to assist our staff in the development of their online Personal Learning Network.
This week, as I do every year at this time, I’d like to bring recognition to the #MTSPDDay hashtag!
As educators take part in various professional development sessions across the province, many of them are choosing to share their learning via social media and tagging their posts using the hashtag #MTSPDDay. By following along with this hashtag on your platform of choice you are able to document your own learning, grow your PLN, and take in content from sessions you were unable to attend!
My #MTSPDDay
I am spending my #MTSPDDay with the Brandon Teachers’ Association at their annual LIFT Conference. I am honoured to be serving in the capacity of conference keynote at Crocus Plains School! My session is aligned with my current work in the field of AI,
Artificial Intelligence in Education
We are approaching the two-year anniversary of publicly available generative artificial intelligence (AI). But,what exactly is AI and what do educators need to know in order to use it for themselves or with students? This session will provide a comprehensive overview of what you need to know to use these tools effectively and ethically in a manner that streamlines educational demands and frees up time for the aspects of your role that bring you joy.
AGENDA:
- what is generative AI and how does it work
- capabilities and limitations – educational alignment and applicable policies
- impact on student assessment
- impact on staff workflow
- recommended programs
- prompt workshop
Did you participate in #MTSPDDay? If so, what session(s)?
Did you use social media to share about it?
