One of the most challenging barriers when it comes to technology integration for educators is access to resources. In almost all scenarios, classroom teachers do not have a lot (or any) say over their budget and while buying things out-of-pocket is a reality for many educators, tech tools are often cost-prohibitive. However, the budget restraints affect individual schools and school divisions as well; especially for niche tech items that aren’t part of “daily” use. Increasing Technology Access in Manitoba Schools
The MAETL STEAM Library is a curated collection of educational technology tools purchased by MAETL, available for loan to membership organizations.
Classroom- and school-based loans are facilitated via your divisional MAETL representative. Tailored support is available through our dedicated Lending Library sub-committee.

The library, which currently features a variety of robotics, virtual reality, and drone kits offers:
- free shipping to the recipient
- access to the tool, secure storage, and any associated accessories
- digital tutorial supports
While the library is now wrapping up its loans for the 23/24 school year, I highly recommend checking out their offerings and getting your loans secured for the upcoming year!
