Follow Friday – Internet Society of Manitoba
Every Friday I share what I believe to be a notable person/organization/school on our social media pages to assist our staff in the development of their online Personal Learning Network.
The Manitoba chapter of the Internet Society is relatively fresh and came into being through the work of Joel Templeman. In their own words, the Manitoba chapter is described as:
“Transforming Manitoba into an inclusive, equitable, interconnected and connected digital society.“
“Since its founding in 2021 as the Manitoba Chapter of the Internet Society, ISOC Manitoba has taken on the task of maintaining an open and transparent Internet and is actively involved in promoting Internet development and appropriation as well as related technologies and services, by Manitobans and our neighbours.
ISOC Manitoba is committed to upholding the principles of universality, including an appropriate geographical distribution of access points coupled with an equitable and adequate pricing structure, along with the appropriation of Internet by its users, through learning and developing the mastery of related tools and services”
