#TechTipTuesday – Create to Learn

Every Tuesday I share a Tech Tip on our social media pages to assist our staff in their use of technology as it relates to their role.

The create to learn series features online tech tutorials from First Nations, Metis, & Inuit creators, podcasting in the classroom, photoshop and digital creation, web design and personal branding, drones, and much more

This week marks the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation which will be held on Thursday, September 30th (formally referred to as Orange Shirt Day). As we move forward in a spirit of truth and reconciliation, I know that many educators are looking for resources to support this action. In response, today’s Tech Tip is focused on Create to Learn.

“Create to Learn is pleased to offer this free online learning resource in partnership with imagineNATIVE. These video tutorials on digital skills and traditional knowledge using digital tools are all created by First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists and media makers to share their skills

In addition to their book, there is a robust Create To Learn website!

The Create to Learn website (linked above) includes numerous video tutorials on a variety of topics:

  • Drones
  • Writing
  • Visual Arts
  • Video & Film
  • Game Design
  • Cultural Teachings
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Music & Songwriting
  • Photography & Photoshop
  • Web Design
  • And more!
