#TechTipTuesday – Create to Learn

Every Tuesday I share a Tech Tip on our social media pages to assist our staff in their use of technology as it relates to their role.

Tech Tip Tuesday, did you know the Create To Learn series features online learning series from First Nations, Metis and Inuit creators? Access digital learning series about drones, podcasting, photoshop, web design and much more!

A few weeks back I saw a Tweet posted by the Seine River Technology account sharing about the new books they distributed: Create to Learn. I was immediately intrigued as I do not have anything in my professional learning series that approached digital skills from this perspective.

When I shared my enthusiasm, SRSD Ed Tech was quick to offer a copy to myself! I am so thankful to have this resource that highlights both digital and traditional teachings as told by First Nations, Metis, and Inuit creators.

Their project is described as:

“”Create to Learn is pleased to offer this free online learning resource in partnership with imagineNATIVE. These video tutorials on digital skills and traditional knowledge using digital tools are all created by First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists and media makers to share their skills”

In addition to their book, there is a robust Create To Learn website!

The Create to Learn website (linked above) includes numerous video tutorials on a variety of topics:

  • Drones
  • Writing
  • Visual Arts
  • Video & Film
  • Game Design
  • Cultural Teachings
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Music & Songwriting
  • Photography & Photoshop
  • Web Design
  • And more!

I'd love to hear your thoughts; please leave a comment!
