WOW Wednesday – Kelsy Black
Every Wednesday I highlight some of our amazing MVSD staff on our social media pages. Everyday our staff are using tech in new and exciting ways, are learning new skills, and are sharing ways in which ed tech is assisting them in their practice.
This week I would like to highlight Kelsy Black from Roblin Elementary School (RES). Kelsy has dedicated numerous hours to her own professional development to ensure she is as prepared as she can be when it comes to supporting her students in our ever-changing pandemic teaching environment. Kelsy took part in our MVSD Summer PD sessions to familiarize herself with Office 365 and Microsoft Teams. She has also been working independently through many of the resources included within the Blended & Remote section of our MVSD ICT Resources notebook.
Not only is she using this information to refine her teaching practices, she has also made this a part of her student’s routine when they are face-to-face with her at RES. This allows her and her students to familiarize themselves with these tools, troubleshoot together, and prepare for the potential of remote learning. I strongly believe that Kelsy’s growth mindset, adaptability, and student involvement will ensure a smooth transition to remote learning in January.
