Follow Friday – ICTC
Every Friday I share what I believe to be a notable person/organization/school on our social media pages to assist our staff in the development of their online Personal Learning Network.
This week I’d like to highlight the Information & Communications Technology Council (ICTC-CTIC).
ICTC-CTIC describes themselves as,
“The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) is a not-for-profit national centre of expertise for the digital economy. ICTC is the trusted source for evidence-based policy advice, forward looking research, and creative capacity building programs for the digital economy.
OUR MISSION IS TO: Strengthen Canada’s digital advantage in a global economy
OUR VISION IS TO: Foster globally competitive Canadian industries and a prosperous society empowered by innovative digital solutions“
As an educator I am most interested in the research ICTC is undertaking that helps bring awareness to the impact digital equity has on access to education for Canadian learners. One of my current projects is actually participating on an advisory board for the most current ICTC report, “Manitoba’s Digital Divide: Connectivity’s Implication on Tech-Equity and Education”, which is slated to be released this month.
While we await for this report to be released I invite you to review their other publications, including “The Impact of Technology on Learning and Teaching in Canada“.
