#WOWWednesday
Every Wednesday I highlight some of our amazing MVSD staff on our social media pages. Everyday our staff are using tech in new and exciting ways, are learning new skills, and are sharing ways in which ed tech is assisting them in their practice.
This week I’d like to highlight the technical vocational staff at Grandview School (GVS). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have had to cease cross-transportation between schools in an effort to preserve student cohorts. As such, any students who would previously visit another school building for classes such as Human Ecology, Woodworking, etc are now having to attend these classes online rather than face-to-face. Given the natural hands-on component of these courses, and the use of specialized equipment, you can imagine the transition this can cause for everyone involved.
Yesterday I spent the afternoon with the GVS tech voc staff, Derek and Barbara, to assist them in their planning for these courses. This included the creation of Teams and audio/visual set-ups so that they can effectively interact and demo the skills of their courses through Teams meetings. Both Barbara and Derek are so committed to making this new experience beneficial and positive for their students and I can’t wait to see what they come up with through the semester.
Great work!
